This makeover was thanks to some rogue tenants in 2013 who spilt purple nail polish all over the near-new cream carpet giving us the opportunity to recarpet. While we were at it we purchased some nice furniture for the rooms. Unfortunately our insurer Vero found an out clause by saying this was malicious damage rather than an accident so as landlords we were left to pick up the bill. Nice.

We have just set the rents for 2015 and are pleased to report there have been minimal rent increases. A number of existing tenants have already re-signed for next year so it isn't too soon too think about where you want to live for 2015.

Our latest project has seen two of the six flats in this great 1960s block  revamped for contemporary living while retaining the retro character of the original architecture. Affordable living in a north facing building with four off street car-parks.

Nest's studioroom and suite rents have been set for 2014

We are being contacted by people enquiring about NEST properties for 2014. The rents for studios and suites for next year have now been set and you can see them on our updated website wwww.studiorooms.co.nz. Viewing of properties will begin shortly.

In addition to these we have a number of flats and the rents for these further properties will be the subject of another blog within the next week. We have flats in the following areas: Royal Tce (2 bdrms);  Maitland St ( 1 bdrm; 4 bdrm); Harbour Tce ( 5 bdrms x 2) and Kaikorai Valley Road (1-2 bdrms).

Consistent with our commitment to make desirable accommodation available at affordable prices, we have not increased many of our rents and most remain at the 2013 level.

Interior upgrade at 146 Queen St Studio Rooms

All rooms at our 146 Queen Street studios have been upgraded with new wall mounted LCD or plasma TVs in readiness for the Digital switchover in April 2013. The TVs all feature Freeview.



While you were relaxing over the Xmas/New Year break and enjoying a week off work with your feet up Cam was painting bedroom walls at our Queen St property. He also purchased and hung new curtains and added contemporary furniture to the rooms to create a more neutral, modern decor with bright accents.





Alan from Dunedin's WOW carpet cleaners did a great job cleaning the carpets.

NEST comes to Central Campus


We have recently purchased two five bedroom flats on Harbour Terrace. Flat 1 was renovated with fresh paint, new carpet and built in furniture in two weeks. Thanks to Buildsmart for coming to the party and working with us for a quick turnaround on the renovation. What a great, central location for Uni and Polytech students. Close to the Robertson Library, Dunedin School of Art, Logan Park sportsground and the Forsyth Barr Stadium. Flat 1 has been renovated and is being used as a showroom to promote both Flat 1 & Flat 2.
